Description

The Rosette Nebula (Caldwell-49).
Located around 5000 lightyears from Earth,  Rosette Nebula has a flower like structure and  spans a distance of about 100 lightyears across in our Milky way galaxy.
It is a cloud containing enough gas and dust to make about 10,000 stars like our Sun. In the centre of the nebula is a cluster of hot, bright young stars. These are warming up the surrounding gas and dust, making it appear bluer. John Flamsteed, an English astronomer, discovered this remarkable object around 1690.
